Standing Up For What I Knew Was Right

One day when I was driving on the freeway, I was completely blindsided by another car pummeling down the hill. I didn't know what to do or what went wrong, but I knew things were bad. I couldn't feel my feet at first, and my face was covered in liquid that turned out to be blood. When the ambulance arrived I could see the concern on their faces, and it was frustrating to know what was about to come. Fortunately, I was able to get great medical care, and talk with a personal injury attorney that helped me to sort out everything else. Standing Up For What I Knew Was Right

Unsafe Turns Are A Leading Cause Of Car Accidents; How You Can Prove It Wasn't Your Fault

by Dylan Tucker

While there are many different causes of car accidents, unsafe turning ranks as one of the most common. Safe turning is a skill that most drivers learn when taking driver's training, but it can be easy to revert into bad habits that might cause an accident. You might be suffering injuries from such an accident that might have been caused by a driver making an unsafe turn.

How can you prove that the driver of the vehicle you collided with conducted an unsafe turn? This information could prove helpful in your potential lawsuit.

Did the Driver Slow Down?

The first thing you and your accident attorney should take a look at is if the other driver slowed down before they made their turn. It's possible that you were unsure that the driver was preparing to make a turn, especially if they made no attempt to slow down first.

If a driver continues driving at road speed, drivers surrounding them might assume they are going to keep traveling along their original route. This means they are unprepared for any sudden direction changes their car might make. If the car simply makes a turn in front of oncoming traffic without slowing down, other drivers don't have the time to react.

Was Their Turning Signal On?

Along similar lines to watching for cars slowing to make turns, other drivers watch for turning signals to flash. In the event of your accident, did the other driver have their turning signal on? If they didn't signal their attention to turn, you might have hit them, not knowing they were going to slow down or even turn in front of you.

If you have a dashcam, you can prove the other driver didn't use their turning signal. This will greatly help you win your case.

Did the Driver Ignore Stop or Yield Signs?

One of the most common reasons there are accidents during turns is drivers ignoring stop signs. This could be unintentional if a driver is new to an area and didn't realize the sign was there. It could also be impatience on the part of the driver simply not bothering to follow the rules. In either case, if your accident was caused by a driver not stopping when they were required to, you could win your case.

The same is true if a driver failed to yield when directed to. This could be when they were entering an interstate or merging onto a main road. If a driver fails to yield to oncoming traffic and they cause an accident, you have reasons to bring a lawsuit if you were injured in that crash.
